Do we need to paint our Starcraft SS boat?

Was wondering if the bare aluminum is going to be affected in salt water conditions?

Not neccessarily but you should use a product to protect it like Sharkhyde

I wonder how much of this stuff do I need on a 18' boat?

I see alot of bare alum boats in the salt. Most that stay in the salt have bottom paint.
They get a nice dul grey look, oxidation protects the alum.
Keep good zincs on her to prevent electrolisis problems.

So, I'm wondering if I don't paint it I need to use zinc plates? I'm only using it for day or so, trailered.

A thorough freshwater wash down of the hull and a freshwater flush of the motor, rather it's I/O or OB will suffice.
