Do weedless props work?

I have a 2001 Yamaha 9.9 high thrust 4 stroke pushing a Godfrey 12' sea ryder pontoon (light, small boat). The lake I'm on is very weedy and it really is fouling up my current prop.

Do "weedless" props work? I'm sure they're not a magic bullet, but even if they are somewhat better I'ld consider one.

Thanks

Yes Weedless props are marginally effective. In my opinion your not going to make it through a 20Ft patch of dense weeds perhaps a 5 ft patch.
You might rig a support so you can tip your motor a little.
Be sure it pumps water. To much angle and control will be difficult.
