In the 1. - 5. category<br /><br />I use the OEM for my main boat and have a stack of others that I have accumulated over the years.<br /><br />In the 6. - 8. category<br /><br />You don't have a category that is a good fit for me. I am in the driveway wrench category so count me as a 6 lite I guess. I consider the 6. regular category for the pros.<br /><br />Not to expand this but since you are in this area, I find it difficult to sympathize with posters who:<br /><br />1. Have a manual and won't read it.<br />2. Don't have a manual, won't buy one or go to the library and want help just the same.<br />3. Have a manual or not, post questions and ignor suggestions.<br />4. Post questions without providing enough info such as what boat/motor.<br />5. Have been around a while as indicated by the number of posts yet asks questions that have been asked and answered hunderds of times.<br /><br />iboats has been a tremendous asset to me and a heck of a good way to learn - manual or not.

1,2,5,6,& 7 for me. If I have the OEM manual, it will be there with me on the job. If I don't, I turn to the generics. Then when my butt is really upagainst the wall.....I come to iboats :D .

1&2 preferably;all the rest to varying extent. :) I usually find a manual before buying, if not, asap after. That goes for anything from a power tool to electronics and especially anything with an engine.

1-- OEM manual is first purchase after motor.<br />6-- Although it sometimes seems to turn into an 8.

2--Seloc is okay, but the pictures stink and I'm still trying to decipher their attempt at explaining synch-n-link (understand the rest of the book just fine).<br /><br />7--I like tinkering with all types of motors.

hello all, 1&2. I have manuals for everything I own, trucks, cars, motorcycles etc. I just bought the factory manual for my new Yamaha 115 four stroke. Very disapointing, seems to be really lacking in details and little more than a beefed up parts list. maybe Rodbolt or someone can tell me,Is there a "factory" manual for the general public and then a "proper" factory manual for the factory technicians? thanks...W

3 I can do simple maintenance on a car but I'm still a little afraid of dropping parts and tools in the drink.

I am a "9"<br />I know you didn't list a "9" but I am looking for a manual for a 2002 merc 90 elpto and cannot find one. Luckily i have not had any problems yet. <br />O Ancient Mariner, please help a lowly captian and steer me towards a repair/maintenence manual for my motor. Thanks in advance.

Howdy, TS.<br /><br />Too new for aftermarket. Your best bet is a Merc dealer.

2 and 6. I have a Clymer and a Seloc. I use this board when I run into a situation and I dont have a clue. Like the time I stripped the fill screw to the lower unit and I did and search on this board. I found the method for installing a Helicoil and i was back in business.<br />I LOVE THIS BOARD.<br /><br />JAMES
