Does anyone out there own a Nitro Bass Boat? If so, what has your ownership experience been like. Has it been reliable or a lot of trouble. Which model and engine combination do you have? Just curious.

Re: Do you own a Nitro boat?

I was almost the owner of one. If you do a search, I believe I told my story already. A short re-cap, the boat was beginning to fall apart, only 3 months old, and I turned it back in and got out of it. It was a nx-650 or 750, whichever is the 16' version. The motor ran great(125 Merc) but cosmetically, the boat was wearing fast. Just my experience.

Well, I own a 1994 Nitro 170 with a Mariner 115.
I bought this rig new and I really have not had any problems with the boat or the motor. I find that it has a nice ride and will take some rough water ok. I have fished out of a Champion and Ranger boats and I can almost say that my Nitro is as good as those. But that is just my opinion.
Good luck if you are buying.

Re: Do you own a Nitro boat?

I have owned a 1993 Nitro 160TF with a 60hp evinrude for the past 10 years. The boat is moored in the water all summer in Michigan (200 acre inland lake) and spends the winters in a pole barn. As for trouble with the boat or motor, the answer is nada. Does not leek, pulls my kids water skiing and tubing, mototguide trolling motor still runs fine. I have just purchased a new crestliner 1750 sportfish so this boat will be for sale in the spring. Reason for selling is it can be tough to take 4 people skiing with a 60hp motor. New crestliner will be a 125 merc.
