As one replied depends upon the purpose. I had a glass boat till I hit a log with the outboard and the transom cracked. Now I have a tinny....

I'd love to have a wooden boat, but not until I have a fiberglass house.

I also have a tracker 1436 like yours but my wife will not let me take it to the stripper pits:mad: But she has no problem when I want to go to the striper local lake.:)

What else floats on water?

"A duck!"

"So if she's made of wood she's a witch....... Burn the witch!"

.......You've got to love the movie.

God made aluminum too.........

I have a real aluminum boat..... welded out of plate alloy, not just thin sheets riveted together.

Ever seen aluminum burn? It's pretty gnarly.

Re: Do you own an alunium or fiberglass boat?

No one with just a little class would never admitt to being a no class glass owner.:p
are you kidding.......me own a tinny?....tinny owners are cheaters......(this includes starcraft owners):eek::D

you aren't really a boat owner till you have had to replace the wood stringers/ transom and foam in a glass boat.
you have to actually lay in the bare fiberglass hull grinding with short sleeves and pants to really appreceate boats.:D

ok guys....i fired the first shot......go for it....lol

Re: Do you own an aluminum or fiberglass boat?

I've had several bondo boats but only one tin. My present hole in the water is a 1991 Prince craft Springbok S/P 196, not many like it in south Florida. We usually see glass boats down here where the water never gets colder than 70 degrees. Anyhow. It?s been a great boat; I have had no issues with the salt water. If I have any complaints it's the deck gets a bit hot during those 100 degree summer days other than that I love it. Oh and I get allot of "Hey what kind of boat is that?" questions and the sand bar.
