Scott, What are you trying to accomplish? If the carbs are dirty, it is unlikely the cleaner will be effective. If you are trying to clean the tank and lines, and you already use gasoline with alcohol in it, they have already been cleaned.

The only time a fuel system cleaner is useful, is if you have a small amount of dirt in the carbs. The amount has to be so small that it just barely affects running quality.

Well no major issues just a hiccup here and there. Really just wondered for preventive maintainance purposes.

No. Use of a fuel system treatment is intended to "keep" a clean fuel system clean. If it is already gunked up you can certainly try it but that usually ends up with gunk depositied in fuel filters and and carb jets. It all depends on how dirty the system is. If it hasn't been touched since 1975 it is very likely it "really dirty".
