One thing I have not done a lot of research on yet is if I need a hoist. Just put deposit on first Boat 2003 Four Winns H200. Its beautiful in great condition, I do not have plans of buying a hoist right away because I have a dock on each side of where it will be parked. The boat is on a medium sized inland lake and the waves do not get very big since I am on a small canal. What do I need to do to keep my boat in great shape? Thank you.

Freshwater lake kept, you probably don't need it. My boat is currently on a lift in saltwater, it's awesome. Keeps the boat out of the water, keeps it from being beat when the wind/chop kicks up or having to adjust dock lines for tides.

Ayuh,.....

Tie it off in 4 directions so it Can't hit the dock from any side....
2 lines each side should do it....

And buy some Fenders/ Bumpers,.... Big 1s,...

Thanks Bondo. That's what I was thinking of doing and just putting bumpers on all points of possible contact on the dock.

Anyone else have any other good home made ides that they have pictures of?
