I have recently purchased a project boat. I have always had outboards and know nothing about I/O.

On the tag from the side of the stern I found this information:

OMC Cobra
Model # 986698
Eng. 4.3
Serial # T0739078

Can someone educate me on the year and any other information you have about this stern drive?
