Do a search on the subject and you'll find it has been discussed a great deal.

Do you have a problem you want to fix, or do you think just bolting one on will help in various ways?

Have you tried trimming the engine in, that should keep it from going so high.

As far as the 2 fins they are the same but different, you shouldn't notice a diffence between the 2 and either one should do you well.

My boat came with a doelfin but I ended up making my own from a peice of 3/16 aluminum plate(I do that sort of stuff).

the engine is on the lowest mount and is trimmed down as far as it will go on take off and the front of the boat goes insanely high.

i cant figure out if i should order the doel fin or the stingray xp, i can get the stingray in the same color as my outboard ... but the doel fin is cheaper by nearly half

I have a 16' Sea Nymph Bass boat....it has a 35hp on it now...waitingfor a deal on a 50hp when it comes up..

Any ways i have a CMC tilt and trim jack plate also....I have 3 marine batteries in the aft and also a 18 gallon tank..I carry a ton of gear fishing...I had a hard time planing out..i got a fin and installed it....made a world of difference....i plane right off now...

I think the fins work good depending on the circumstance....I believe my boat is a little underpowered for my load..but I still get 23 on a GPS and i plane out nice now......get my full RPM's also

I have a Dole fin..but I like the design of the Sting Ray

Anyways it works good in my situation
