Does 1993 225 have fuel pump gaskets?

Got my two new fuel pumps and installed them - was surprised to see no gaskets between them and the engine block - unless they BOTH fell out and I cannot see them where they lie - unlikely. My Clymer manual says there are gaskets and to replace them when replacing pumps.<br /><br />But the parts explosion on the "parts" section of this web site (from whence I ordered the pumps) shows no gaskets.<br /><br />What gives. Don't those run on manifold vacuum or whatever and they need to be airtight?<br /><br />Engine does run fine with new pumps mounted metal to metal, so I'm completely confused.

GET THE GASKETS<br /> they mat be stuck to the old pumps. but yes virginia they have gaskets.

I am such an idiot. Do you have a category where a "Seaman" is promoted to a "Moron".<br /><br />It IS in the parts explosion - it's hard to see but if you follow the dotted line from one of the fuel pump mounting bolts, it goes through a gasket - very far from the pump itself, but I shoulda looked.<br /><br />So I hope I didn't mess anything up. I ran it about an hour without gaskets.<br /><br />The old gaskets are definitely not on the old pumps, nor on the engine block, nor anywhere else. Either they disintegrated or it was never assembled with gaskets (I think those are the original pumps).<br /><br />I'm moving to a Kayak.....

hahaha<br /> no worries<br /> just slip a set in there sometime and go be happy, if your not seeing nasty stuff ozzing then it may be sealing for now. however get the gaskets.<br /> good luck and keep posting

This is weird, I did check the bottom of the engine housing with a fine tooth comb, as well as any other place a falling gasket might wind up.<br />I am also 100% sure the gaskets were not on the old pump nor on the block, AND I am also certain since I am the only owner that these were the original fuel pumps and were never off the engine.<br /><br />Is it possible the factory forgot the gaskets (and it had no repercussions after 11 years)? Can they dissolve?<br /><br />I will be putting the gaskets in as soon as they arrive, but this is very strange.....
