I have lost all power on 99 evinrude ficht i have no gauges, no cranking ability or power to ignition and cant trim motor. I am leaning toward a power distribution panel problem, is there a main fuse before the panel and do you know what plug if its the bottom one that feeds the panel with power and what color wire.

Not sure of the Fitch ciruitry BUT there is usually a 20 amp power fuse within one of the small wires leading from the starter solenoid...... from the same large terminal of the solenoid that the battery positive cable attaches to.

If the fuse is ok, remove battery cables and clean terminals, check cable and do the same at the other end, check cable with a meter.
Loose terminals, wingnuts etc cause havoc and can blow elec components.

Snake, my '98 Johnny 150HPV6 carb model has a 20 A fuse on the port rear of the motor, near the voltage regulator.

Mine is also a 1999 evinrude ficht 150

A couple of weeks ago I lost everything you said gauges power and trim. I could not ever find a main fuse but traced wires everywhere and found my problem was the power wire plug coming into the power distribution block. I took off the power distribution block off and where the bottom red power wire came in on thr block the male stud would shake when i would touch it. so i popped the back panel of the fuse block off and sure enough the solder had broke loose I resoldered it plugged it back up and bolted it back on. And that fixed it havent had a problem with it since. Saved 355 dollar on block!
just to let you know!

Snake, if you take the cover off of the power distribuition panel you will find 7 fuses looking at you. There are 6 in a row on top ( 3 in 1 row and 3 in another) and one down on the left between the 2 relays on the left side side of the panel. This is your main fuse and it's a 10 amp. Would also recommend checking ALL of your battery connections on both the battery and the mtr. Especially ground connections.

LINDSAY, I liked what you came up with for a fix for your PDP. They (OMC) did have probs with those panels back in those years. That was good.

Last week my 1999 Evinrude 90 HP ficht lost all power to the instruments and power tilt. The engine kept running and I was able to get back home.
Upon investigation I determinded to the best of my abilities and with limited tools that there is a loose connection in the power block. Since my cottage is 200 miles North, I havent been able to pursue the problem yet. Having read your comments on a 150 HP model I'm sure it's the same power block issue. The part numbers are the same.
I'm hoping I can split the power block enclosure, it didn't look as though it would come apart easily.
Thanks Lindsay,Snake and Boobie
