Does a 89 nissan NS40C charge my battery while runing.

If not what is a good way to charge the battery while on the water? Maybe Solar panel?

Probably will need to buy a spare charging kit available at Tohatsu Distributors..or go solar...

The 40C comes standard with an AC output for lighting (only). There is available (from any dealer, including me) 346761602M RECTIFIER KIT 8B THRU 40C $99.78 if you need to charge batteries.

thanks for the response, do you have any idea how long i could run a radio before i drain the battery to the point it want crank the motor.

Depends on the battery and the radio. Impossible to know for sure without more information. (That's like asking how many glasses of water you can get from a water tank. ;-) But you can always pull start the 40C ...
