Does anyone else go out alone? I've just about had it with my friends...

It's a got darn beautiful night tonight, my friend and his wife who were going to come out tonight all of a sudden decide they would rather go "look at a camera."

They are freakin LUCKY I actually spent some time out on the water w/ a girl. Otherwise I'd be PISSED as hell that I had lugged a cooler full of beers (ok, they gave me the beers 2 days ago) to the boat (and now back here home)...

I also have some boater friends who are just being ****ing lame lately. WTF - do they not know that summer is half over here??? and we spend 8 months of the year under 70 degrees???

I'm just ranting right now because I'm starting to get tired of asking people to come out on the water and having them say no or come up with some BULL**** reason not to.

I'm about 75% ready to just never invite people out anymore and spend the rest of the summer on the boat myself and go make some friends out on the water!!!

I know how you feel.This happens to me a lot, but when I cant go out they all want you to take them out. I dont like going out on the water alone because of the dange in it, plus it can be a pian to get my boat in and out of the water because of its size. There is an up side though, if you go out a lone you do what you want with out listening to anyones gruff. Good luck.

I go out alone 99% of the time.But that is because I go fishing at 3 in the morning.

I grew up going out by my self and love it I can do whatever I want whenever I want to and there is never a rush to get back in.

I'm solo at least 75% of the time, as my wife works every other weekend, and I love to go fishing. I don't really own a fishing boat, but it floats, and I can cast a line off it. So there you go...solo it is!

Sounds like the right plan to me
I can almost guarentee you'll meet a better class of people
Enjoy the free beer & forget about it

I use to go alone many times. I love boating and I don't need nobody else to enjoy my pleasure on the water. I had a 20' deep vee that I launched and recovered by myself many times. Now I have a 27' cabin cruiser that I keep docked. My wife works every weekend and I spend every weekend on board. During the season I'm at the lake every weekend and spend my 3 weeks of vacation there as well. At the dock I have met new friends that seem to be by themselves too,,,imagine that. I do find that sometimes at the dock, finding alone time mostly through the week.

I do want to add that I never went out on a large body of water by myself either.

I have a few friends that go out on the boat with me almost every time I launch.

They are:

Nikon D200
Nikon D70
Canon Powershot S2 IS

They're not much on bringing a few cold dinks or snacks, but they have been known to make me some money now and again, so I guess they earn their keep.

I think I'm gonna spend the WHOLE day out there alone tomorrow.

I'm going to bring lots of drinks (I'll be anchoring off an island and stayin there the whole day)......and water too

+ a grill
+ chicken breast
+ burgers
+ steak

+the laptop
+the internet enabled phone
+the mp3 player
+an air thing for the water.......

+a full change of clothes to go running on the beach for a workout....

anything I missed?

I'll be honest, I have more fun when I don't invite people, I am 100% an out doorsman and I get annoyed when I hear, eww its a bug, I don't like going in the water, some people just don't know how to have fun, I try hard to be a good host, we go to the marina's cause my wife and I are hungry and they don't want anything then a 1/2 hour later they want to go because their hungry I make sure they bring their own vehicles so I can drop them off and say SEE YA!! F-it my wife and I decided we have more fun when its just her and I and the dogs, we have more fun when its just us!!

I go out just about every Friday by myself. My old boat is no small craft, but I have no issues launching alone.
All the other times my wife is with me. We both enjoy the hell out of it. I enjoy my alone time too, I don't have to deal with much traffic, and I don't have to interact with the general public at all! Paradise.

My best guest was always my wife who loved to fish, but sometimes when we were drift fishing for tarpon in the St. Lucie Inlet, she really got upset when I said just one more time for about the 10'th time after she said lets go home and eat dinner

I never go alone. I always have my best friend with me. He never drinks my beer he only drinks water. He never complains if the fish are not biting and when i do catch one he likes to kiss it. He always wants to stay out as long as i do. The only thing i have to do is take him to shore every now and then so he can relieve himself. Oh yes i do pat him on the head every now and then and tell him he's a good boy.

75% of the time I go out alone. I take a couple of rods with me, find a nice quiet cove and act like I am fishing. I always take a cooler with 3 beers and some water with me. Can't drink more than 3 if that's all you have. If I happen to convince some nice lady to go with me I go with her or if one of my good friends is available they may go.

I personally love hitting the lake alone. I am around people all week at work and I really enjoy the solitude I get by being on the lake alone. My Canon Rebel XSi goes with me as well............

Now-a-days, I prefer to go out with my wife and puppy.

When I lived in the Keys, I usually went out by myself. I would head to the sand bar and hook up with old and new friends there. Usually a great time. I could leave when I was ready. I enjoyed spending the late afternoon and early evenings just floating in peace and quite. I would even go diving by myself (don't tell my mom ).
