Seems I also recall them 'non swims' in Navy boot camp had to wear white sneakers too.

I had to have black high top PF Flyers when I was a little kid. They had the invisible magic wedge that made you run faster and jump higher. Pol Parrot shoes! Pol Parrot, Pol Parrot, the shoes you want to buy.

You folks must have been rich. Only thing close thing to a sneaker for me was a flat piece of rubber with some side holes. Got some string, put through holes and tie em up. I think the phrase keep you rubber down and your shiny side up was meant for me.


Worked on my uncles farm for three months when I was ten. My paycheck went to new shoes that I wore out. Ten dollars dont far. He even squeaked when he walked. He was that tight.
