rs2K, nice boat... looks almost identicle to my 88 IMP 270 Liberty. Mine only has twin 3.7s and they are jammed in there tight. I couldn't imagine fitting twin V8s in there, with the way the motors are now. Boat must fly though, the PO of my boat claimed 45 mph on a GPS, with twin 180-190 hp motors...

My neighbor actually has a Cruiser Inc 33 express (12+ beam) with twin inboards he tows every season. Sure the trailer is probably custom, but he does it twice a year.

My boat is currently over propped, but I can get 45 MPH at 3850 RPM right now. I would imagine the right props should raise that number to 50 MPH. I can't imagine I'm, getting much over 200 HP at such a low RPM. Even with the big props it sure jumps out of the hole! It drives like a boat half it's size but can handle the waves and chop without any trouble at all.

Here's a picture of my engine setup. I have about 6 inches between the manifolds. I haven't had any trouble changing the filters or spark plugs and I'm a big guy. I did have some trouble removing the tilt motors, but I found out if you remove the OMC stringer boot you can get to those MUCH easier.

I think the Liberty shares the same hull as the Kansa and the Express. I don't know why mine is considered a 28' boat though. Maybe the extra engine weight pushes the hull down enough to call it a 28 footer.

Thanks for the info. Yeah from the photo your boat looks identicle to mine (do you have a larger version).

An interesting point, my twin 3.7 inline 4 cyl motors appear to be about as close together as yours, if not closer! I wonder if it has to do with the labelling of yours a 28 and mine a 27?

Do you have any cabin photos, I'm willing to bet your layout differs from mine (what mine used to be that is).

Re: Does anyone make a trailerable twin engine inboard boat and trailer?

I have a few photos from the day I bought the boat. The whole boat was completely covered is dust inside and out. I'll attach the one that best shows the layout. Please excuse the mess.

It's a pretty simple and roomy layout. I'm 6' 3" and can stand up all the way in the first half of the cabin. Two people can be walking around at the same time without falling over each other while under way.

The deck has the helm on the starboard side, a drink holder in the center, and a cabin door on the port side. The stairs spiral down and to the right. There is a head with a shower and sink directly below the helm or on the starboard side of the boat. In front of the head is a kitchen area with an alcohol stove and a sink. On the port side directly across from the kitchen area is a table with two seats that turns into a bed. I keep the table down in bed form and use it for fishing equipment storage. In front of the table is a closet and in front of that is a very large bed. It's about the surface area of a queen sized bed but is triangular.

Directly under the deck is a very large storage area that also is supposed to be a two person bed, but I don't have a mattress for it. I have been keeping about 20 PFDs, 3 lawn chairs, and a few tool boxes down there.

rs2k, that is basically the layout these boats should have... Interesting to note, mine as I bought it had a funky set up. Same entry, same head, same aft cabin and similar Vberth, except my vberth had a fold down table, and my galley encompased the area where your table and chairs is. Then where your galley is, my boat had a small 4' long or so seat. Needless to say I have since removed the cabin appointments, and have been restoring it and changing the layout.

I've never seen a layout like that before. How are you going to change it? Does you boat also have one giant 100 gallon cubical fuel tank under the deck? Does you boat also have two cubical storage areas with doors on either side of the fuel tank that is accessible from the under deck storage area? Does you boat also have lights and lamps on about every corner? There must be about 10 lamps in my cabin. It's really over kill.

The boat does have the giant tank, between the engine comp and the aft cabine. It does have two storage areas that straddle the fuel tank area, but they are accessable from the aft cabin.

There were lamps (literally they looked like house lamps) throughout the cabin. Two in the aft cabin, two in the forward berth, a couple lights in the galley and one in the head.

My plan to change it is to create a "sofa" where the galley used to be, and put the galley where that small white bench seat used to be. Here is a photo of the gutted cabin as it sits now. I am ordering, and measuring things now, and hopefully start building cabinets and cushions very soon.
