Re: Does anyone make a trailerable twin engine inboard boat and trailer?
My boat is currently over propped, but I can get 45 MPH at 3850 RPM right now. I would imagine the right props should raise that number to 50 MPH. I can't imagine I'm, getting much over 200 HP at such a low RPM. Even with the big props it sure jumps out of the hole! It drives like a boat half it's size but can handle the waves and chop without any trouble at all.
Here's a picture of my engine setup. I have about 6 inches between the manifolds. I haven't had any trouble changing the filters or spark plugs and I'm a big guy. I did have some trouble removing the tilt motors, but I found out if you remove the OMC stringer boot you can get to those MUCH easier.
I think the Liberty shares the same hull as the Kansa and the Express. I don't know why mine is considered a 28' boat though. Maybe the extra engine weight pushes the hull down enough to call it a 28 footer.
rs2K, nice boat... looks almost identicle to my 88 IMP 270 Liberty. Mine only has twin 3.7s and they are jammed in there tight. I couldn't imagine fitting twin V8s in there, with the way the motors are now. Boat must fly though, the PO of my boat claimed 45 mph on a GPS, with twin 180-190 hp motors...
My neighbor actually has a Cruiser Inc 33 express (12+ beam) with twin inboards he tows every season. Sure the trailer is probably custom, but he does it twice a year.
