Why is the U.S. flag "backwards" with the stars on the right? I always picture the flag with the stars on the left with the flag "blowing" to the right.

its a fake picture, true but I would guess we would be too worried about upsetting someone to put the truth out there, heck we wont send the illegals back why do we want to offend france, germany and russia. <br /><br />I think the writing needs to be larger so it can be seen from further away.

You would think whoever did this photoshop fake would have done a little better job of reserching th American flag.......probably an illegal from Mexico that did it on a PC our government provided with some welfare program..........Allthough Im all for our troops wearing those patches for real.

Actually the reversed flag is correct on the right shoulder:<br /><br /> Flags on service uniforms are set properly with blue field to the left, on the left shoulder. On the right shoulder, they are inverted (blue field to the right) so as to imply forward movement, not retreat

Imagine if you were looking at a flag blowing in the wind, it would look the same as that flag on his shoulder. I believe all of our armed forces have the flags like that on their shoulder. It represents that our military is always marching forward; not running away.<br /><br />

The flag is worn on the right shoulder, because, in the military, the "place of honor" is to a military member's right. <br /><br />The full-color U.S. flag cloth replica is worn so that the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward. <br /><br />The rule dates back to the Army's early history, when both mounted cavalry and infantry units would designate a standard bearer, who carried the Colors into battle. As he charged, his forward momentum caused the flag to stream back. Since the Stars and Stripes are mounted with the canton closest to the pole, that section stayed to the right, while the stripes flew to the left.<br /><br />
