Does the engine charge the battery?

I hope this is not a dumb question but when the motor is running, does it put a charge on the battery? And if so is it ok to run a stereo of the system. I am fairly new to 2 stroke outboards and know how the motor provides the timing and spark to run. Just wondering if there is a charge going back to the battery. This is a Force 85 by the way.
Thanks,
Brett

Yup, it charges the battery but the alternator is rated for something small like 10 amps (don't quote me-- I don't know the exact number) so don't go overboard with accessories.

It is SUPPOSED to charge the battery, IF everything is working properly.
