Re: Does the perfect boat even exist?
Things change and not all ways for the best
when i was doing my homework on boats i was investigating cat hulls
and although i have never been disappointed with the ride
i ran across a bunch of "world cat lemon" threads
listing to world cat and the dealer i wrote it off as just one of those customers they or anyone could just not make happy
i bought a world cat paid big money to have a brand new boat
the thing has been falling apart ever since warranty is not worth the paper it is written on
the wind shield keeps coming loose cracking the fiber glass cracks in the gel coat every where
all i get is excuses from world cat gel coat is one of many things not covered in the warranty
world cat has sense bought out glacier bay Carolina cat and Livingston cat all made in the same factory by the same people
when i took the boat to a top shelf fiberglass shop
they told me the boat was molded in too hot a ambient temperature and or to much hardener was in the gel coat or probably both
when i asked world cat if this was possible they told me "the gel coat was not covered under the warranty"
but if you look at a old world cat 1999 or older no such problems i am sure soon you will see the same things happening with glacier bay boats they just in the last year or two where bought out by world cat
they may be the perfect boat just don’t by a new one or you will be unhappy just like me and quite a few others that bought boat built in tar burrow north Carolina
great boat just dont buy one they will fall apart around you and all you will get from the warrany at world cat is excuses and they they will ready you the warranty papers
