the reason I suspect it is, when I go hard over it goes away... and it seems to come from there. Can I use an automotive pmp

any way to be sure it is coming from the ps pump. I have taken the belt off and none of the pulleys make any noise when I spin them without the belt on. The noise seems to be coming from the ps pump but I dont wanna throw parts at it

There is no "marine" pump.

You probably have an Eaton pump with an integral reservoir.... You can even buy rebuild kits.

These kits do not come with bearings though. If the bearings are bad you'll need to send it to them for rebuild or get a rebuilt pump.

You did check the fluid level to make sure it wasn't low didn't you?
