Howdy,

Well since Seafoam is basically naptha mixed with light oil, it depends......what do you want it to do?

Those products usually just make you feel pretty good..........

So, IMHO, they do a pretty good job for those who sell them.....not so good for people who buy them...

Well,

MMO is basically the same thing. Stoddard Solvent, oil and lard. I don't know why some think this stuff will "clean " anything.

btw naptha is also known as gasoline.

If there's something wrong with your carb, pouring snake down it will not fix it. It must be removed and rebuilt.

Carbureters usually fail to work properly because of particulate matter plugging small jets and passages, or float levels are wrong and/or accel pumps are defective.

Pouring "stuff' down the throat of a carb doesn't "fix" any of these problems. they also have the potential of causing plug fouling and detonation if there's residual products in the intake and you load up the engine by hard running it hard immediately after pouring this stuff in.

I wouldn't pour any of that stuff in the oil or fuel of any engine I own.

Cheers,

Rick

I have ran sea foam in a 28hp Johnson it ran like crap misfired.A buddy told me it was carbon buildup on pistons or heads.Seafoamed the snot out of it for 3 tanks full of fuel.Ran like a champ after that. Also I have taken seafoam and put in a glass jar.Placed a lawnmower carb bowl in it for 1 hr came out clean as a pin.But I telling you its only a shot in the dark the money you spend on it is gone and you might still have to do more work to get problem fixed.

The few times that I have added SeaFoam to my gas, I have always been surprisingly pleased.

That is the only place that I would add it to...and in your case, I can't see any reason not to.
