Yesterday we (my brother his boy and myself ) on a journey to catch some bass. Got to the boat ramp right at the break of daylight and arrived at out fav. fishing hole and started on the up wind of the grass matte and first thing my brother caught a small bass and I caught a keeper and what looked like a great day on the water my nephew said whats this water coming out of the drain :^ (glad my nephew was playing around in the bottom of the boat) I immediately turned on the bilge pump and told everyone to reel in and get ready to go back to the dock. I was thinking did the plug come out?? it took a long time to get on plain. Got back to dock as the water was still pumping out of the bilge. I thought I had some how put a hole in the hull. After getting the boat trailered up first thing I looked for was the plug out, Nope still there. walked around the boat trying to find the culprit. as I was looking under the boat I saw the 2 inch stream of water coming from the port side of the boat. As I was walking around to see the damage I was thinking that was a one heck of a hole for that much water coming out. Sure enough there was a big 2 inch hole in the boat, Some how the outside flange of over flow for the back live well came off and exposing a 2 inch hole. I never over fill the live well anyway I tied down and headed to wal mart and got a tube of quick steel(the best stuff money can buy) and a tube of 30 second epoxy. Sitting in the parking lot I applied the quick steel and it was solid in 5 minutes and used the epoxy to seal the gaps, By the time I got back to the ramp the hole was harder than the hull itself. Did miss the prime time morning fishing slot but all was well, We caught about 10 or so keepers and I caught the big fish of the day about 4 or 5 pounder(yes we catch and release) Now I have to sand and paint that bug ugly black spot.
