Good solid and stable hull, notice it barely lists to either side even in these volatile conditions it wasn't meant to tackle...

Imagine how stable it would be in some choppy waters! :D

The outdrive is down to keep it from falling off the truck. Obviously :)

No, I think what has happened was this:

He lowered outdrive, started engine with the muffs, reves it up, but forgets to put truck in a parking, or apply parking brake. And, because it is Bayliner, prop produced enough thrust in the air to push this entire setup forward. But obviously nobody was in the truck to push the brake, and by the time he realised what is going on, was too late.:) I can only imagine how fast would it go in the water.

I'd like to see the towing bill! But besides that all I can say is Jesus Mary and joseph that's why I don't like Dodges and or Bayliners and especially those cheapo galvinized tubing trailers they come on. But I do know one thing I will be double checking the integrity of my straps and chains this spring.

A guy runs his truck into a telephone pole, and that's why you don't like dodges or bayliners? Good argument. Very typical strong argument of the "anti-bayliner" crowd.

Assume that thing hit something else before the light pole?

That photo has been floating around on the net for quite some time. It actualy caused me to start using additional tiedowns that run from each rail on the boat at midpoint, back to a pair of eyes on either side of the trailer, at the rear. Maybe those would rip out too, but at least they will slow things down a bit ... I hope!

Ouch, that looks like it hurt... especially in the wallet area.
