Doing the "New to me" boat Tune-up before putting away...

I have a 1996 Crownline 225 CCR with the 5.7L Merc (Eng. Ser. # 0F793775). Since I am not entirely sure what type of maintenance has been done to the boat, I am changing out all of the fluids (of course), along with the common Maintenace/Tune-up items. (Distributor Cap/Rotor, Plug Wires, Plugs, fuel filter, etc.).

My questions are:

Obviously, I don't want to pay for the Genuine Mercruiser tune-up parts, but am a little leery on this being a "marine" engine. Are there any parts involved in tune-up type maintenance that are strictly marine only? I was going to go to NAPA and cross reference the Mercruiser part numbers I found for the above tune-up items to see what I come up with.

Any suggestions on types/brands I should get and where?

Also, I am doing all of the fluids...any suggestions on brands of trim fluid, lower unit fluid (Alpha 1, Gen 2)?

Drive oil should be Quicksilver High Performance Gear Lube (it is the only one recommended).
Spark leads and spark plugs are 'generic', as long as they are AC-MR43T or NGK BR6FS..
Cap and rotor are Marine specific.
Fuel and oil filters are also generic.
Engine oil... Your choice. (Plenty :doh: of oil threads to read on iBoats)
Power steering and trim pumps, use any light oil (around 20 weight) if the existing oil is honey coloured, or ATF (Dexton II) if it's red...

I've had great performance out of the NAPA marine line of parts for cap & rotor. They also carry OE AC Marine plugs as well.
