you posted this in another thread "You have an LK model. Below is copied out of the Volvo service manual #7797362" with the appropriate diagram.

I was wondering if you had a similar diagram for my set up:

93 Volvo 501B, serial 4100145627
Drive DP-C 3102142943

My trim and tilt have given me nothing but trouble since the day I bought this. I've posted here before about the problem, needing to use both the up buttons from tilt and trim at the SAME time to raise my unit, and no trim/trailering stopping. I have to do all my trim and tilt this way. My marina said Volvo says that's the way it is, but I don't think so.
I'd post a picture if I could figure out how you do it;)

thanks so much for any help on this and ALL your help in the past!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a gauge? Is it round or square? Does it work properly? If it does work, what is the lowest number you get on the gauge when down?
The older 290 style droves do not have a detailed discription of how to test the system. About all they give you is a wiring diagram.

Here is the wiring diagram from the DP-C manual which is part number 7731624 so you can order one.

thanks for the diagram, (and sorry again about the triple post). I've made a copy, and will check it out. Everything looks similar, except my throttle handle (mine is like a T) has and up and down on EACH side of the control..one for trim and one for tilt. Again, I have a picture, but......... It is a Volvo though.

I have a round gage that works off the white toothed device on the outdrive. That works fine, when it's not broken (replaced twice last year), but it seems to be trouble with the control handle and relays itself. The down ONLY works with the one inside down button as well, and like I said, I need both for up at the same time. BTW, what should control the trim to trailer setting? I've never had it work, so I have no idea.

After studying the diagram, it seems to be for "trim" only, and no sign of a tilt system, so perhaps Volvo was right, and I just have an incorrect throttle control, that is wired for "trim" only that works for tilt too. What do you think?

Is your gauge a digital gauge? If so, what is the lowest numbers it goes down to. It should go to -5 or -6 to +6 for trim.

no, it's a normal gauge with a dial that goes from up to down, and how far down it does depends on the initial setup of the white toothed piece on the outdrive. It's been different both times I've had it fixed.

also, is there a definite answer as to whether I should have a trailer/tilt limit so that the outdrive will not operate when too high? Mine is installed in a 93 Sig24 Chaparral.

The square digital gauge had the trim limit circuit in it. The round digital has a black box somewhere on the transom. The analog gauge also used a black box for the trim limit, but it (Black Box) wasn't available on the DP-C (I Think, I could be wrong.) no mention of it in the DP-C service manual or parts.

so the analog being my gauge, I guess it's working the way it's suppossed to, and Volvo/Chaparral must have wired the throttle accordingly: basically it's just ONE trim/tilt all in one, no seperate operations for my year and model. Thanks again Don for all your help clearing this up:)
