I'll take a SWAG and say that he probably hit a reef and ripped a good sized hole in the hull but was able to run it up on the beach before it sank, determined afterwards that the damage was too great to repair and thus, the clean-up as pictured.

You got me?

This is all I found. Photos. The rest of the story you will have finish yourself.

Hole in the hull or not, there are a few choice pieces I would have liked to salvage from it before these guys got a hold of it.

What a waste!! You'd think there could have been some alternative to destroying the boat. If they could bring those excavators onto the beach, why not a crane and flatbed. I'll bet the owner's insurance company wasn't real happy with the result.

looks like they did do some salvage. look at the difference between the first picture and second. Antenna's on top are gone among other things. probably all that was left was the hull.

there are more pics not shown. it was filling full of sand from the wave action and was getting buried. if you could stop the waves, no problem.

the umbrellas in the last shot makes you wonder if a resort didn't say 'remove it now'

Re: Dont beach your boat in the Bahamas!

There are so many things that are wrong in these pictures.

1. That boat was definatly better off to sink then recovered the right way.

2. Looking at the first crawler crane, im surprised it didnt end up like the boat

3. Why did they need two cranes?.

4. they could have pulled it out with the truck sitting there.

and the dump truck on the beach, what a romantic site for honeymooners in the bahamas.

im sure there are more things wrong in these pictures but it seems like total waste.

i love the comment i guess you can only beach it once in the bahamas LMAO!!!!

wonder if those are union workers?
