Don't lock the keys in the truck

My 13yo nephew, Neil, was fishing a couple weeks ago with his grandpa on Richland Chambers reservoir. Grandpa has been letting Neil drive his truck sometimes on the back roads around Corsicana, & this time he let him park it after the launch. Grandpa told him to be sure & not lock the keys in it, "like I did last time."<br /><br />They'd been fishing for awhile under the FM2859 bridge when a game warden stops his truck, gets out and shouts down to them, "did you launch over at Cedar Creek?" <br />"Yep." <br />"Do you drive a red pickup?" <br />"Yes, why?"<br />"The driver's side door is open and the engine is running."

Hey, this got me thinking (and I am still on my 1st cup of Jo). I already have a spare boat key in the truck. But I should put a spare truck key on the boat key ring. Gosh, why didn't I think of that before?<br /><br />Yes I am brilliant. Thank you, thank you.

Yea, I have gone to having a spare key on the boat key ring as well. After having learned that the wife has been keeping a secret from me. She routinely locks her keys in the van while out and about.<br /><br />I am starting to think that she just likes being rescued by the boys in blue, with a slim jim in hand. <br /><br />And yes I found this out when she locked the keys in the van at the boat ramp. The secrets started coming out, when her friend started kidding her about it being the fourth time in the last year.

Don't let the officer hear you call it slim, he might find any exscuse to give you a ticket.
