Honestly, I had trouble figuring out what you're saying and what your problems are. Suggest you take your motor to a good mechanic and have it repaired.

First be sure to get a manual before any motor repairs. If you have a manual congratulations. You need to give your fuel system a good check from tank to carbs.Sounds to me like it is starving for gas.Un hook the supply line from fuelpump to
carb. and carefully check for flow when cranking.
If strong The carb. or carbs may need a rebuild.
If weak start with a pump rebuild If still weak
start at tank check everything from tank to pump.
Vent,diptube,connections,connectors,hoses and filters.

sorry to say this but I have no idea what you had just typed. I think you need to slow down and better describe your problem if you want help. After just reading your paragraph I just remember you saying...."i want to fix by end of summer ???????""

dude. you need help.

bryan,

Your engine needs several things to run.

1. Compression.
2. Spark. (at the right time)
3. Fuel.
4. Air.

Do you have all four of these? One has to be missing.

Bryan,

When the engine is in the water there is more back-pressure on the exhaust (through the propeller). When the boat is on trailer there is less back-pressure. That difference in back pressure affects the idle of the engine. When your engine is in the water it will idle slower than it will on the trailer. You need to adjust the idle setting a little faster so it will not stall in the water. Preferrably, set the idle while the boat is afloat. (Don't drop that screw driver in the water!)

Good Luck, Gold Bear ;)
