Re: Don't use marine 2 stroke oil in your chainsaw!!

I use the same oil in both types of my implements, ie, water cooled marine engines AND air cooled tools, up to and including my now 2 year old 4 cycle 2 stroke lubricated Stihl BackPack blower.

What is it you ask. I know you are burning up to know.

It is Amsoil 100:1 2 cycle oil. Never had a failure and seldom need to replace the plugs or clean the anti-spark screens. 30 years and counting on some of my equipment.

What exactly is a 4 cycle two stroke?

What exactly is a 4 cycle two stroke?

It is Stihls answer to the overbearing emission regulations on 2 stroke motors. It is a 4 cycle motor that has no crankcase and runs on 2 cycle mix. I was a bit skeptical at first but I did not want to buy a new 2 cycle backpack blower with a catalytic converter.

I do not use it for commercial purposes but it has worked and started flawlessy in the near two years that I have owned it. I did a lot of internet research before I bought it.

Here is the link.
