Last week, while traveling on business, I stayed at a motel just north of Columbia, S.C. that advertised a "Continental Breakfast". The breakfast room opened at 6:30 am to guests. I came along at 6:40 am and ALL but two of the Krispy Kreme donuts were gone (out of a stack of boxes). (In fact, the breakfast bar was wiped out in about 10 minutes).
In all the years I've traveled, I've never seen a Continental Breakfast cleaned out so fast, especially the donuts. So I took a survey of the license plates of the guests.
Surprise! (welll, maybe not) at lest 60% of the tags were from Ontario or Quebec (I did hear some French speaking folks at breakfast). April is Canada Month in South Carolina.
What's up? Are there no KK donuts in the Great White North? These tourists acted like they were starving for KK donuts. They left the bagels alone. BTW.
