Hey guys. Does anyone have any opinions on the donzi 275. I have been looking for a cruiser for the past few months, and this just popped up on Craigslist

1997 27' Donzi 275LXC Express Cruiser New Engine!

I don't know much about these boats other than donzi has quite a good reputation. Price seems good as well. What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Tom

Donzi has been in business for probably 50 years and they make great boats.

Did you buy? It is missing the Radar Arch, may have been removed, or torn off, if fiberglass and holds wiring channel for antennas etc. it does not have a molded stairway to bow and walkthrough windshield as stated and obvious in pics. does look in good shape, lacks air conditioning. check maserating pump and vacuum pump for head, VERY expensive if not working. they are great boats, mine has triaxle trailer and pulls well, and is 13'3" just under bridge height due to radar arch which this one lacks. does it have power inverter to use appliances offshore? check trim tab function as it needs them to work due to fuel tank being on port side, when full will lean underpower without them. do check for window gasket leaks as new gaskets must be made as no longer available. check for spider cracks at hardware mounts. and front hatch seal. any thing else? just ask
and ENJOY the performance of this great unit which is quite rare now.

It looks like it has a walk-thru windshield to me, and those two SS fittings on the helm are likely used for steps that may or may not be with the boat, but aren't "molded in". Also, the radar arch was probably an option, so this one doesn't appear to be "missing it".

Sorry but it is exact same cockpit as mine with exception of cabin door color, it is NOT a walkthru windshield, and those SS "fittings" at helm are structural mounting bolts with acorn nuts on them, not for steps as for one no hinge on windshield, and secondly, the middle windshield bracing is in the way and center of windshield is 12 inches wide, never seen an LXC 2750 or 3250 without radar arch, but is possible but since all records were sold to the Russians we have no way to verify. regardless, boat looks nice condition

Re: Donzi 275 lxc

I stand corrected. The pics he linked weren't too clear, so I assumed the 12" center window was a walk-thru as I couldn't think of any other reason they would have separated the two windshield panels with a 12" panel. It would have never occurred to me that they would have left acorn nuts out in full-view on structural bolts. I have seen several boats that have small fittings in the same location/orientation that allowed for removable steps to be installed. Kind of a poor design on those two aspects of the boat, but I digress. Thanks for correcting me!

If you do search google images for the boat, there are many out there in the 275-class without radar arches. I'm sure that it was likely an option for this boat simply due to towing/bridge clearance issues for this size of boat. I bet most, if not all, of the 3250's have the radar arch due to it being unlikely someone will be towing a 32'+ boat regularly.

Yes, radar arch was not on every one. I have a neighbor with the same boat, no arch.

Decent boat, not many of them around, so be careful if you
need specific parts to this model boat, as they are almost impossible to find. Get it surveyed, please....
