Ok, so you seen the pics of our home as we installed the new tin roof, well after all the nicks and cuts and crying the bill came in at $4200 in material, "$1400 labour"
Thank you to my buds that helped out, sure saved me a few bucks, mindya went through lots of rum wiskey and beer at the end of the day. :D
(The guy that did the flashing also helped supervise and help me and the rest of the guys do the install, thank god!!)
Last year we had a quote of "$15,200" in labour, and we still would have to supply the material!!!

But the nicest thing is since we have a new "tin" roof the house insurance has dropped $700 per year YAAAAA:)

Good move, rbh. :)

Not having a metal roof in rural wildfire country is really risky.

Well on the home front when it comes to projects I am glad this one's off the list.
The front deck is next if there is time and the weather holds out.
Still down a cord and a half of wood, but there are the birch I fell last year that should fill that void, as long as they did'nt go to punky.

(Wish work would pick up, begining to feel like a starving donkey with the perverbial carrot (or bags of) dangleing in front of my face, getting hard to judge which way to go.
lots of work out there, someone has to make the desicion though.)

Rob

Theres lots what you could do with your front deck.It is such a great sitting area for company and youself. You do need a better railing so my dog cant fall off when Chance is doing the doggy hello.

We just hired a new guy under me so it will be intresting to see what he brings to the table.

What other lines of work can you do? PM me and I might be able to get you on with us as we are always looking for good people.

PJ, did you talk to your boss about that idea for getting DSL in on the power line?

Congrats on the new "Tinny" Rob! I really think you should have gone camo green instead of red!;):D Hope the jobs pick up for you, if not, look on the bright side and how much time you will have to complete the porch yourself ... and all the money you will save! Then there is the added hunting and fishing time ... sucks it is getting to the time of year where I wish I could get laid off so I had time to hunt and fish to my hearts content. But alas, work gets in the way. (Am headed to CO soon in hopes of bagging a couple elk and a muley, but we digress.)

Congrats on the roof and the insurance savings! YEAH!

We first have to figure out what is required, costing is by the M plus travel in and out and LOA.
(you are a along ways away, thats going to be the rough part, to justify the travel and LOA cost)

I thinlk metal roofs are terrific------except if you have a house with vaulted ceilings.

A little rain and pea sized hail and you would think you are sleeping, or trying to, in a snare drum at a rock concert.

Looks Nice!!!
