Re: Douglas Lake
YES! Spent a week there with my family last year the first week of August- rented a house for five days and four nights with a covered dock, the water was great and clear- had an awesome time, fishing was slow in the shallows around the dock (tiny pan fish) but still better than a day at work.
The surrounding countryside is very nice, rolling hills and farms, we were on the shore near Dandrigde, very quaint small town saved from flooding when the lake was created as the town was named for George Washington's wife- or something like that.
Ran most of the lake from where the state highway crosses it down to the dam. Lots of undeveloped little coves to anchor up in or chill out.
Just watch the water levels as they do fluctuate depending on how much water is let out of the dam. Get a map and you should be good to go.
