I have rebuilt a 150 XR6. I am literally down to connecting the last wire and I cannot locate the attachment point.
It is a brown wire with a blue stripe. It comes out of the 2-4-6 head. The other end has a small ring terminal.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

Over temp switch...goes to the terminal strip on side of block where it's paired/connected with the main harness's tan/blu ("brown/blu") wire and the warning module's tan/blue("brown/blu")

does it have a sensor on "both heads"?... might wanna check a little more...2,4,6, is port side... over temp is "supposed" (factory) ta be starboard side..

easy way ta tell is over temp (starboard side head) will have one wire only... temp gauge sensor (port side head) will have two.. one being a black ground under tha bolt holding tha sensor in tha head

Good catch Duke!!......I took a shot and went with his "blue stripe" on the wire and figured someone might have swapped heads.

JD,

See below for the factory installed port side temp gauge sensor (NOT the over temp switch) Duke is talking about. Notice the extra wire Duke mentioned.......

one other thing is that tha temp gauge sensor wire is usually solid tan with a male "bullet" plug on tha end but still on tha port side head....
