hey!

So I finally am going to hook up my down riggers.

The wire that goes to the plug, that the cannon rigger plugs into, is made up of three wires. black, white and green.

I am planning on putting one plug on each side of the back of my boat. there is a battery on each side.

My question is, can i just hook the black to ground and white to the battery? is a 30 amp in line fuse enough?

where does the green go?

is there anything majorly wrong with hooking up the wires this way?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Downrigger wiring

I'm not familiar with downrigger wiring per se, but the "ground" for a boat is the negative battery terminal. Do NOT try to use the hull for a conductor!

I imagine that the white and green are for up and down, but try to find the proper instructions for your particular units.
