I have a 2011 GMC Acadia Denali that I purchased new and have regretted it ever since because of the stupid way it down-shifts. (Other than for the down-shifting I am reasonably, but notcompletely satisfied with the vehicle.) From a stop or low speed the acceleration is as good as I need or care to have, but above about 40 mph the down-shifting gets stupid. I can't figure out if it is going to shift just 1 gear down or go down so low that the engine revs over 6K and the truck goes no where. Sometimes it feels like it just shifts into Neutral.
I did speak to the service advisor about this and he acknowledged that since they changed the design a year or so previously that this happens and there is not anything he can do about it. I realise that I'm a jerk for not doing something while the truck was new because I am concerned about voiding the warantee.
The question is: Is there an after-market software fix for this condition?
Thanks,
Nick
