Re: Drain Engine By Running It???

Yea..even though I'm in Phoenix where it rarely gets down near freezing, yesterday I pulled both block drain plugs and the manifold plugs. Heading to NYC for a few days and don't want something to sneak up on me. I was just asking if anybody did it that way.

You did it good, no worries....
I would pull the rubber coming from the outdrive and drain as well.
Just to be safe.
I'll need to do mine next week since.............
I just came off of Lake Mohave yesterday.:D
Clear glass, all the way from Cottonwood to Katherine's Landing and back.
It got to a high of 83* and got a little chilly when I opened it up.....
No bimini required.;)

...did you poke a wire in to the hole to make sure it was clear?

The only issue I can think of with 6 boats is the possibility that it may get deluded and I would have to add some antifreeze concentrate.

I know you meant dilluted but I think the play on words potential is pretty high!

All 6 boats are I/O? Running each boat long enough in the community tub, figuring trailering and maneuvering plus each boat taking some juice out of the tub and needing to check the concentration level each time then compare that effort to just climbing in and using some tools...you did not say what climate the boats are in but the drain method is best if it ever gets below 28 for more than a couple of hours. I figure you are asking for advice, so draining properly is mine.
