Drain Hole urpose

Recently purchased a 16ft 1999 Monark. There are 3 drain holes on the back. The center hole and lowest of the three is obviously a drain hole and takes a drain plug.

The other two consist of one on the port side which sticks out about an inch and has threads and the one on the starboard side is smooth.

Can someone please tell me the purpose of the drains on either side? I'm not sure if one is an intake but I'm confident someone has the answer. Thank you

Tough to tell with out a picture, but I'll take a crack at it. The one with the threads may be a live well intake. The threads are to thread on a screen over it to prevent sucking crap into the livewell. The second is the live well drain.

One way to check is to put a garden hose in the live well and see if it drains out the drain hole. Put the garden hose in the inlet hole and see if the live well fills.

Then again, if you don't have a live well, then they could be some other drain (latch lids, ski locker, etc).

Thanks Jon, I'm sure you hit the nail right on the head. I will test them as you suggested but I feel certain your right. Thanks Again, Wil Toole

No prob Wil. One more thing - if by some chance I was right (first time for everything!), you might want to look into adding the screen back over the intake. Hate to have you tearing out the valve or plumbing due to a clog.
