Yep a brass threaded plug for sure, I vote for the crowfoot, if that doesnt work, then try the slotted socket tip. If you break the T off, you can go back with a 12 pt socket, with the T off, you should be able to get a the socket to work. Or if its a 1/2 square, use the female end of the extendtion.

I wonder if the T wrench tool you use for cutting off city water would fit over it and work?

It looks like the mate was inbedded during layup and isn’t mechanically fastened to the hull. If it was me, I'd drill it out from the backside, or at least mostly, then try to turning it out. The last thing you want to do is to twist the socket out of the hull. You'd have a big mess then
