Draining old fuel

I have a 2000 Sea Ray Sundancer with a 7.4L Bravo III and about 25 gallons of rotten fuel in the tank. Is there a safe way that I can use the electric fuel pump on the motor to drain out the fuel? I was hoping to attach a fuel line past the pump and drain it into some 5 gallon cans for disposal. Any suggestions?

Re: Draining old fuel

I would, pull the fuel gauge sender cover, use a hose long enough to get outside the boat connected to a auto electric fuel pump.
Beats pumping water and debris thru a good fuel pump.
