On a Volvo Penta 5.7 L I take the hoses off the thermostat housing and drain them. I also open the blue petcock valves on the manifold. Is it necessary to open the brass plugs on the ends of the manifolds as well?

And the block drains, and if you have a fuel cooler, drain that

Are the block drains the brass plugs on the ends
Ok I just found a diagram. The blue petcock drains are on the block . The brass plugs are the manifold drains. I’ll need to go back and drain the manifolds. I filled all the hoses with pink antifreeze.

If it wasn't -100f rated, suggest you drain the AF as well

Depends on the year. Mine 2008 (gi-300-j) have the blue wing nuts on both the manifolds and block.
