How long should I go before I should drain the manifolds & risers?
I use the boat every couple of weeks, but sometimes I won't run the engine for a month.
I live on the central coast of California, so it doesn't really freeze here. My manifolds and riser are
fairly new. I store the boat on a trailer in a yard close to the launch ramp. I flush the engine with fresh
water after every trip too! Thanks!

I live in FL. No hard freezes here. I never drain anything on my boat even if I know it won't get used for a month.

Thanks Guy, Yeah I just have seawater that goes into a heat exchanger then to the manifolds + risers + out the exhaust collector & finally out the drive (280)
I do have anti freeze that cools the engine.

The draining of the system will actually speed up the rusting process.
It rusts in the water but out in the air it's quicker.
Your closed system has a drain plug on the heat exchanger.
If your really worried it can be drained and filled with cheapo RV antifreeze.
Never use automotive AF in a system that will flush into the water(illegal).
I guess your running in salt water, the flush is a good thing.
