Re: Drier Sheets VS Mice

I found this stuff at the local implement dealer called "Fresh Cab". It's made by Crane Creek Gardens. cranecreekgardens.com It is suppose to keep out mice and it's environmental friendly. The dealer says it works. But, I have no idea. It sure stinks, but, it's not a bad smell.

I'm not worried about mice anyway. I live on a farm site and I have 3 cats. Now, many people will tell you cats do no good. That's true if you Over Feed your cats! Cats take advantage of there environment. If you feed them a lot they will sleep all day and get fat and lazy like Garefield(sp). Why not? If I won the lottery I would do the same thing. But, if you feed your cats the right amount then they are not so lazy and go looking for things to do. Like,, oh say,, catching mice. Cats are the best answer for mice control if you have the place to do that. But, you have to train them right and not over feed them!!! I'm not suggesting starving them or nothing. Just keep them a little hungry. I give mine a handful of cat food twice a day. And, of course fresh water. They stick around and keep mice away. Sometimes they do get under foot but after you step on them a few times and after you flip them by getting your tow under the belly and watch them fly. Then they learn to stay out of your way. They are trainable you just have to know how.

Yep.

Bounce dryer sheets dont work one bit, Ill show you my brand new pop up camper canvas that was chewed to bits. Mouse traps and continuous inspections are the only thing that will deter mice, imo.

Re: Drier Sheets VS Mice

The family has cats, and the cats eat the mice & anything else they can catch. Fortunately (or unfortunately if you are a young & inexperienced cat) we also have other wild carnivore (bear, fox, bobcats ...).

It's "Survival of the fittest" at our place. :D

P.S. Anyone know what eats those darn “Chiggers”?

Bounce has worked well for us for 10 years.
Thats 10 years of our camper sitting in the wilderness.
We stuff bounce in, around, and under every possible opening and hiding place.
Thats 10 years for a boat that is kept tarped outside.
Thats 8 years for a boat that is not tarped, in an open shed.
Thats 14 years for motorcycles that are garaged.

There have been mice, voles, and even a few rats in all these storage areas.
None have made a nest or a mess in any of them.

Make sure to stuff a few sheets in the prop/exhaust, to keep them from making a nest in the outboard leg. And stuff one in the motorcycle air box intake to keep them from stashing their food in there.

So far the neighbor's cats make far more of a mess in my boat and other things than mice or others do... I've counted at least 8 without tags at different times scrounging and trying to either get under the house or into the boat. They also regularly walk and sleep on my vehicles... I've tried all of the non-terminal methods of control and am on the verge of getting more agressive about the situation...

I used dryer sheet this past winter and they seemed to work as I didn't find any evidence of their presence. However, I didn't user them in my lawy tractor that was stored in the shed near the boat and they built a real nice nest in the cowling of my Kohler engine. One of the little guys was baked well done when I removed all of the covers to clean the nest out!
