drifting problem

I have owned 5 boats over the last 30 yrs. 20' or less, and while drift fishing for walleye in lake erie the boats have always drifted with the wind straight as an arrow. I bought a 25' Wellcraft last yr, all open no bimini tops etc, and i cannot get this craft to drift with the wind. It wants to drift parallel with the waves(sideways). Is this something that larger boats have a tendancy to do? Has anyone tried using a drift sock or cone to fix this problem? I was thinking that dragging this behind the boat would help to keep it going with the waves. Any ideas would help, thanks

Re: drifting problem

Deeper draft = water and current has greater effect then the wind
