Hello,
I have one of those CDI regulators that is designed to replace the older rectifiers on the MERC. It works really well, but currently i only have it mounted by one screw, because of course, the CDI has a different mounting distance then the original rectifier.
I need to come up with a better mounting solution and was considering drilling into the plate and tapping some screw heads. Should there be any problems if i were to do this?
Thanks
Ian

Yup, didn't think of that. Thanks!
Here is a pic. There is another mounting hole, but slightly different than what the CDI has..

I don't see a reason to not drill and tap or even a machine screw and nylock nut if there was room.
