Drilling holes

I have a 2004 20' alaskin tiller. I would like to know if you can dril thrugh the bottom floor under the door just behind the front opening in the bow. I would like to install to batery boxses.

I'm not sure about that, but I think you need different batteries if you relocate to the bow. They will take a beating up front. I don't think there is floatation foam under the floor but I'm not positive. I have issues with my front compartments holding water when it rains and I have not found or drilled drain holes.

I also had questions on drilling holes...for drainage that is. I have a 2000 Explorer SS 1650. It seems the middle compartment on the bow floor holds a lot of water, as do the rod lockers on both sides.

I fish in the salt so the boat gets a good washdown after a trip which accounts for most of the water.

I was thinking of drilling holes in the floor of those compartments in the hopes it would all drain into the hull/bildge.

Can anyone verify it that will work?
