That now makes me suspicious of the amount and the time at which the alcohol was actually consumed. 3 days ago, prior to the admission of alcohol, you would have called it nothing more than a witch hunt if an iboater would have suggested any alcohol involvement at all. Well, we now have admission of that, which is what makes me, and I am sure others question the amount and time frame relative to the shooting in which is was involved.

If you don't believe it played a role at all, I have no problem at all with that. I'm not saying that it did. I simply don't know. I would though, like to hear from other people regarding their recall of the days events. Any discount of the possibility alcohol played a role in this after the admission would be an absurd injustice to our system.

A true accidental shooting, compared to a shooting that was accidental due to alcohol makes a huge difference in how this will be persued by law enforcement agents.

For the good of the country, I truly hope that Cheney's account of the day is accurate. I do have doubt though.

Statements Have been Given,......

The Only Thing that's Absurd is;....
Again,.... You,+ the Pack are Trying to Create an Issue,......Only because You weren't Personally Called,+ Informed.......

I'm Really Sorry that You Don't happen to be "In the Loop",........

Ayuh,.... I Know,.... It Should be Illegal for the current Whitehouse to go to potty, without 1st calling You,+ CNN to Inform you that Something Might have been,.. Well, let's see.

We have a "designated witness" who was admittedly 100 yards away from the accident in a vehicle when it happened, and at first thought that Cheney had an heart attack. Yep, she'd be my choice for designation as the official witness.

The nice thing about only having one witness is it is much easier to keep the story consistent.

And we have the local police, who apparently decided that alcohol was not involved before the investigation, again apparently on the word of the official designated witness.

I don't know. Call me skeptical, but I'm not entirely sure we have heard the full, complete, and accurate story here.

I guess when dealing with conservatives, we need to assume that they couldn't possibly try to mislead us, and simply trust exactly what they tell us.

It may be just me, but when everything else they have told us later turns out to be not true, blindly trusting them on something that is not independently verifiable is a stretch.

The entrepreneurs will be happy, though. I've already seen a T-shirt that says "I went hunting with Cheney, and all I got was this bloody T-Shirt"

Again, for those of you trusting his story, go right ahead! However, don't tell me I have to trust him.

Bondo, what makes you think I care about which press was contacted? It's irrelevant. My concern arises from the time frame in which the events took place, including the announcement that alcohol was consumed prior to the shooting. It took two days for that to come to light. You brought up the fact that we are not in the loop...duh. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. However, when dealing with the heads of our nation, we are all in the loop. All I have said is that I have my doubts as to the events as described by the VP. In my opinion, if you were as convinced as you sound, you would not be throwing a fit over my meaningless opinion.

Personally, I think this entire sequence of events was put on by the VP just to make W appear to be the bright one in the Whitehouse. :D :D

Probably not, but it sure feels like this is the way the press and the left are thinking. Didn't mean to make a personal attack out of it, it's just still odd to me that anyone thinks there is anything more here than an accident. Not sure why that is so hard for some to understand. Over and out . . .

I like **** Cheney i think that he is probably one of the best vice president we had in modern times.
The question that i have not seen asked enough is whether the vice president should be out hunting, Mr Cheney has a heart condition therefore he is obviously under various medications, the possibility of fatal errors should've been considered.
All of the noise about the one beer having been drunk many hours prior to the accident is totally irrelevant.

I just hope if I ever get in trouble, I can get the Kenedy Co Tex Sheriff's Dept to investigate.

I wonder what they charge for the "deluxe" investigation.

Re: drinking and hunting...hmmm

how many of you would be happy with the press snooping around your property (if you had a ranch like this) after local authorities have been informed and dismissed everything?

would you be ok with other, un-involved, people coming around saying they aren't satisfied? they don't believe it, so another investigation should be opened...sure.

perhaps some of you bush bashers would rather the UN came in for a look too? who's gonna be after that?

This makes me laugh, all this fuss theres only one person who should be moaning and thats the guy who was shot. He was there, he knew what happened.

I read this thread and just add it to all the other conspiracy theories. If you know nothing about what happened dont guess, dont then presume that somebody covered up what you THINK happened.

I am with you on this one KaGee and all who agree we have kicked the horse enough.

Same thing happened to poor ole Teddy when he had a life threatening accident after a couple of drinks. Darn they still say ugly things.

Only difference here is luckily the victim did not die although it was not because Cheney did not do his part.
