I am about to remove a MC 1 drive and fit it to a 2007 boat that had an Alpha 1,I will not have the new boat here for 2 weeks and am trying to get prepared in advance
1.Is the cut size the same

2.If not is it best to fill the cut and start again

Thanks in advance

Re: Drive Change over

If it had an Alpha 1 and NOT a GEN II Alpha , the drive itself is a bolt on.

Re: Drive Change over

The only difference between an Alpha One cutout and an Alpha One Gen II cutout is the 2 holes at the top. As for the MC-1 fitting in the same hole, that depends on the age of the MC-1.... What year is it?

Ayuh,.... Late '70s maybe,... '80 was 'bout the End of 'em...

Early '70s had a slightly different bolt pattern,... 2 or 4 holes were narrower...

Bondo's right. Last MC-1 was 1982. If it's that late you should have no problems.

Not sure how things are 'in the west', I've been working in the South Pacific for the last 6 weeks... :)
