What differance to revs would there be changing 1.65 to 1.84 on a 6cyl in line 250ci

Normal cruise are 3800 with a Turning Point 17"p Prop

Your revs's will go up by around 10%. It will take off better and use more fuel. If you already get the correct wide open throttle RPMs don't mess with a good thing. Use the ratio that's made for the boat unless you are stuck with the 1.84 drive. To get back to the right ration you'd need a taller prop, prolly 2" to a 19".
Why fiddle with a correct design?
