Hi can anyone tell me why it will not change gear i have got the leg off & the selection rod just spins. How do I go about getting the gear box apart? Thanks James
are you asking about a washing machine or what ever ? a little nomenclature would help get the right answer, like what your item is,make,mod.yr, and sn # would help get an answer.not being a wise a$$,just my way of explaining whats needed .
I used to own a Jap 55 hp Mariner.<br />Gear change selcector shaft in attached to a cam inside the gear box. This cam pushed onto the drive shaft and engages the dog clutch for forward and reverse.<br /> I'd say the cam lever is either broken or slip out of position due to moving too far.<br /> You will have to pull the gear box apart to fix it I'm afraid
