I am installing new drive shaft seals on a 25 evinrude. e25elerr. Should these seals be driven in ubtil the first seal reaches the bearing housing and the second seal(top)mates flat with the first one installed. The originals seemed to have a gap inbetween them. seloc manual doesn't really say.Any one know what size socket I can use to seat them. This site is awsome.spend 3 to 5 hours a night surfing it

Again! There is a tool for this, the driver is part no. 326554. If you use a socket, just be sure it is a slip fit in the seal recess, neither to tight, or loose. Follow the manual.

R.Johnson thanks for the driver p/n. So i guess it's alright to drive them low until they seat on top of each other.

The correct driver will leave a slight gap between the two seal's when seated into place. This gap is then filled with triple guard grease. Use gasket sealing compound around each seal before seating.
